Spicy Tilapia Fish made In Jalapeno Curry Sauce


Hi guys sorry Ive been gone for such a long time.. I guess you can call it a blogging vacation, but I'm sorry I didn't let you guys know in advance... Im back Inshallah with exciting recipes I'm eagerly waiting to share... Today's Recipe is for Tilapia Fish.

Its one of my favorite fish aside from salmon.. Its so soft and flaky it almost melts in your mouth when your eating it.  The fish is Marinated in lemon garlic and spices, and then cooked and simmered in a mouthwatering Jalapenos in  curry, served with white rice, and garnished with green onions and lemon.."mmmmm could this get any better...

 go ahead and give it a try... I promise its better than restaurant food!!

4 large Tilapia Fish Boneless /Skinned ( they usually come individually packed in the freezer section)
2 tablespoon garlic minced/ 1 for the marinate and 1 for the curry
1 lemon
1 cup yogurt or sour milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika powder
2 teaspoon crushed cumin (1 teaspoon for the marinate and one for the curry)
2 jalapenos sliced  thinly
1 1/2 cups of tomato sauce or you can use tomato puree
1 small onion
1/4 cup olive oil
a non stick cooking pan with a lid works best


In a large mixing bowl, marinate your fish about 1/2 hour 20 minutes prior to cooking. Gently add the yogurt,  juice of 1 lemon, garlic,   1 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon salt and mix with your hand to gently rub the mixture on the Tilapia. Cover with a tight lid until your ready to put it into the curry.
Now start to cook your curry, In a large non stick cooking wok, or pan ( something that is big that doesn't crowd or break your fish while its cooking)
fry your onion in the olive oil, once the color turns light golden brown add your tomato paste/sauce, and garlic, salt, pepper and jalapeno peppers.
 Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, and then gently add your fish with the marinate, and cover again with the lid of the cooking pan.
Cook on low flame for about 10-15 minutes, turning the Tilapia with the help of a spatula or fork so it doesn't break into pieces.
It usually just takes about 10 to 15 minutes to cook Tilapia fish once you stick a fork gently down the middle and its soft, add about 1/4 to 1/2 cup water if desired, simmer and remove from heat..

I love to cut fresh green onions for a garnish on top, or the side of  the hot steaming Tilapia and fluffy white rice..

Serve the Tilapia immediately on the side or on top of your white rice and enjoy!!!
