Texas Style Buttermilk Chocolate Sheet Cake Brownies

Hi guys hope everyone had a great Eid. for many of you thinking what that is its a Muslim holiday we celebrate 2 times a Year. I had a great day! It was so fun meeting friends getting together having lunch and of course the Qurbani was the best part.. Feeding the poor and needy seeing the happy smiles on their faces hope and wish I can do this in gods way more often Inshallah...

Getting back to food*** I did a lot of baking the day before Eid. "It felt so good being in that festival spirit" I thought It would be nice to share with the neighbors, and family. So I made a couple of different desserts, I made some Texas Style Sheet Cake Brownies, Busy Day Snack Cake, and some yellow muffin cupcakes.. One of the recipe I'm sharing with you all today is The cake brownies...

Their cake like brownies so chewy soft, moist and delicious, Topped with a chocolaty buttermilk warm frosting. I had so much fun baking them and topping them with the kids, I thought it would be nice to get them involved since it was Eid..and believe it or not they had a ball. so next time get your kids involved it will make all of you feel so good, and just being together and having fun lets you have that special bond with your children.. 

You guys are going to love these special sweet treats, and it hardly takes any extra effort making them. Known as a Texas Style Sheet Cake, this SINFULLY rich dessert  is served as get ready, set, go...........................

Prep time: 30 minutes
Bake time: 35 minutes
Oven: 350/ cool 1 hour
Ingredients: Makes 24 servings
Recipe adapted from Betty Crocker cookbook, gifted to me by my mother..

2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine
 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 recipe for Chocolate Buttermilk frosting: below
  1. Grease a 13/ 9-2 Inch baking pan, set aside. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt, set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan combine butter, cocoa powder, and 1 cup water. Bring mixture just to boiling, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat add eggs, one by one mixing well. add buttermilk, and vanilla. Beat for 1 minute (batter will be thin) Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake in a 350 oven for 35 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick come out clean.
  5. Pour warm Chocolate Buttermilk frosting over the warm cake brownies. Spreading evenly, let cake cool completely for about 1 hour  before cutting.
  6. Tip( dip your knife or wet your knife with water before cutting, this or any cake, and you will get perfect pieces of cake or brownies, with no crumbs..
Here is  the recipe for the Chocolate Buttermilk Frosting:
In a medium saucepan combine 1/4 cup butter or margarine 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder, and 4 tablespoons of buttermilk. Bring to boiling, remove from heat. Add 2 cups sifted powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until smooth if desired stir in 1/2 cup nuts, or almonds..
