Spanish Fiesta Rice Step By Step With Pictures

Hi guys! I just got a new camera today, It was a gift from my sister. It's a Nikon the kind I always dreamed of so I guess that dream has come true for me today. Thanks Sis..
So anyways, I thought of cooking some of my Spanish Fiesta Rice today. In the happiness of my new camera.

 Spanish rice comes from Spain but is enjoyed all over the world. There are many different ways to make Spanish rice, you will find that some people make it with beans or peas and some people enjoy it yellow or red with onions and herbs. Either way you have it you will enjoy it.

The Fiesta Rice, can be made out of  your favorite rice, white or wheat. with just a few simple ingredients, and it can be served alone or accompany any side dish, such as tacos, burritos, curry's, and stuffed pita breads.
I usually save the leftovers, cook up a can of beans, and put them in a burrito with hot sauce and cheese.

So here is the step by step method
Prep time 10 minutes  Cooking time 25 minutes
Serves 4-6

  1. 1 medium sized onion
  2. 1/2 cup chopped green sweet pepper(you can use anykinds of veggies)
  3. 1 clove garlic minced/ I used garlic paste
  4. 1 Table spoon cooking oil
  5. 1 cup long grain rice(presoaked)
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 1 tsp chili powder
  8. several dashes of hot sauce (optional)
  9. 2 big size tomatoes/ diced
  10. 2 cups of water
  11. green chili peppers, and lemons for garnish

           In a wok or pan heat your oil, and fry onions until they are      nice and golden brown
 
                   Add your tomatoes, peppers, garlic, salt, and pepper stir fry for 2-3 min
 
 

                                   Now add the rice, and stir for about 2-3 min
 
 
                                                 Then add your 2 cups of water
 
 
 
Cover and cook for 10 min on medium flame. Lower the heat when you see that the rice is absorbing the water, or you can cover the inside of the lid with a washcloth to absorb access water.
 
 
 
Garnish and Serve nice and hot! I always like to garnish with green chili peppers, and some squeezed lemon.. any questions let me know in the comment box
